Views of the Tuticorin harbour, Tamil Nadu.

During her visits to Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, Dr. Varadarajan would travel from the eastern and western port towns of India. Resultantly, she has some photographs which document the life and times of the porting towns.

In this particular photo series, the Tuticorin (Thootukudi presently) dockyard is photographed in 1987. The photo series has intrinsic value for being a rare glimpse into early days of boat mechanisation along India's coastline.
